2004 was a powerful year for Democrats in Washington and across the nation. While we had some notable disappointments, we also celebrated great victories including the re-election of Sen. Patty Murray and the ascension of our own Sen. Lisa Brown to the position of Washington State Senate Majority Leader. Washington State made history with the hard fought election of Governor Christine Gregoire, becoming the first state ever to have a female governor and two female senators.
