Tai Chi and Qi gong are wonderful practices to improve one's health both physically and mentally. It has improved my life immensely and according to the testimony of hundreds of my students over the past many years, it has made many changes for the better in their lives as well. Tai Chi as an exercise is opposite of other forms of exercise. Internal training cultivates and generates your Chi (energy), so it invigorates. Whereas most other forms of exercise, such as weight lifting, step aerobics, boxing, etc. depletes your Chi. It exhausts your energy where you feel tired afterwards. Tai Chi is non-impact so people at almost any fitness level can enjoy it. At the same time it is very aerobic without over taxing the heart and lungs. The body and organs can relax and open up and loosen so the blood flows easier and oxygenates the body systems better.
